Sarah Jane Ellis is a visual artist based in Brighton whose work explores emotional and imagined environments through abstract movement. Her practice focuses on fluid forms, intuitive mark-making, and soft gradients that merge into mystical, atmospheric spaces.
Working instinctively, Sarah builds layers of colour and texture to create art that feels immersive and meditative — part dream, part emotional landscape. She is inspired by light, energy, internal stillness, and the shifting states of the mind, resulting in pieces that invite viewers to slow down and discover subtle worlds hidden within the shapes.
Sarah holds a BA (Hons) in Fine Art Painting from the University of Brighton and is a long-term resident artist at Liberation Art Gallery in Brighton, where she continues to develop her practice and exhibit her work.
Her art aims to create moments of quiet reflection, curiosity, and emotional connection — offering a soft escape into imagined spaces.
